Cream Chipped Beef

Cream Chipped Beef

Cream Chipped Beef
4.5 oz can of dried beef
10-3/4 oz can cream of mushroom soup
4 cups of milk
2 tablespoons butter
8 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
Homemade Biscuits
3 cups of self-rising flour (if you don't have this, see tip below)
6 tablespoon vegetable oil
1-3/4 cup milk
  1. Cream Chipped Beef
  2. On medium heat; melt butter in a skillet.
  3. Add dried beef that has been tore into smaller little pieces.
  4. Add soup to skillet. Stir. If you plan to add Worcestershire sauce, add it now.
  5. Place 2 cups of milk and 4 tablespoons of flour in a jar. Shake well.
  6. Repeat above step.
  7. Add milk/flour to skillet. Stir until thickened. Turn burner on low after thickened.
  8. Let it simmer for at least 20 minutes to rid it of a floury taste.
  9. Homemade Biscuits
  10. Preheat oven to 450°
  11. Mix together all of the above ingredients.
  12. Drop by tablespoons onto a greased cookie sheet.
  13. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
**Tip to make self-rising flour
For every cup of flour add 1-1/2 teaspoon baking powder & ¾ teaspoon salt.

So for this recipe use:
3 cups all-purpose flour
4-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt

* They say the secret to a fluffy biscuit is a hot oven.
