Eating out can be pretty expensive, so I try to make at-home versions. Here is my almost a Big-Mac version.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef4 Sesame Seed Buns
4 slices yellow cheese
12 pickles
4 teaspoons chopped sweet onion
2 cups shredded lettuce
mustard/ketsup to taste
Special Sauce
⅔ cup mayo
⅓ cup sweet relish
2 teaspoons yellow mustard
¾ teaspoon white vinegar
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ tseaspoon onion powder
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Divide the beef in 4 equal protions (4 oz each) Cook until done.
- While the burgers are cooking, combine all of the Special Sacue ingred. Stir.
- Cut the buns in thirds. spread a very thin layer of sauce on each one.
- Cut each burger in half, vertically.
- On the bottom bun, spread ⅓ of the special sauce, put half the lettuce on it. Top that with a slice of cheese.
- Top that with ½ burger, then spread with ⅓ of the special sauce, mustard and ketsup if you want it.
- Top with the middle section of the bun. spread with ⅓ of the sauce and the remaining lettuce.
- Top with the other beef patty, special sauce, 1 teaspoon onion, 2 pickles, and mustard & ketsup.
- Place the top of the bun on burger.
- Serve with fries or onion rings.
