24 walnut or pecan halves
24 whole dates, pitted
1/4 cup softened butter
2/3 cup light brown sugar
2 egg yolks
1/2 cup baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1-1/2 cup flour
2/3 cup sour cream
- Stick a nut in each date. Set aside.
- Combine the baking soda, baking powder and flour. Mix, set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar until light & fluffy.
- Add the egg yolk and beat well.
- Alternate the sour cream and flour mixture.
- Refrigerate cookie dough for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375◦
- Wrap some cookie dough around each stuffed date and place on a greased cookie sheet.
- Drop cookie dough on a greased cookie sheet
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until a a light golden brown.
