Decadent Chocolate Pudding

Nothing beats the taste of this homemade rich decadent chocolate pudding made with real heavy cream!
  • 6-7 oz of dark chocolate (semi-sweet chocolate chips or a bar)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1-1/4 cup heavy whipping cream + 1 pint for the garnish
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup cornstarch
  • ¾ teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup xxx sugar
  • Chocolate curls, sprinkles,mint leaves
  1. Chop the chocolate into small peieces and put in either a blender or a food processor.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and ¼ cup milk. Set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, over med heat, combine the remaining milk, heavy cream, sugar cocoa, chocolate and salt. whisk continuously until the pudding is smooth and has thickened.
  4. Pour in the cornstarch/milk mixture., stirring constantly. Allow to simmer for about 3 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat. Add the vanilla.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap, The original recipe says to press the plastic onto the pudding, but personally, I love that thick layer myself.
  7. Whip the pint of heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Add the ½ cup xxx sugar. This is the topping for the pudding. Top this off with chocolate curls, edible flowers, mint leaves, and/or sprinkles.
