Nothing beats the taste of this homemade rich decadent chocolate pudding made with real heavy cream!
Ingredients
- 6-7 oz of dark chocolate (semi-sweet chocolate chips or a bar)
- 2 cups milk
- 1-1/4 cup heavy whipping cream + 1 pint for the garnish
- ¼ cup cocoa
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ cup cornstarch
- ¾ teaspoon vanilla
- ½ cup xxx sugar
- Chocolate curls, sprinkles,mint leaves
Instructions
- Chop the chocolate into small peieces and put in either a blender or a food processor.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and ¼ cup milk. Set aside.
- In a saucepan, over med heat, combine the remaining milk, heavy cream, sugar cocoa, chocolate and salt. whisk continuously until the pudding is smooth and has thickened.
- Pour in the cornstarch/milk mixture., stirring constantly. Allow to simmer for about 3 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Add the vanilla.
- Cover with plastic wrap, The original recipe says to press the plastic onto the pudding, but personally, I love that thick layer myself.
- Whip the pint of heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Add the ½ cup xxx sugar. This is the topping for the pudding. Top this off with chocolate curls, edible flowers, mint leaves, and/or sprinkles.
