Ingredients
- 1 cup Cake flour
- 1-1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 12 Egg whites
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- Preheat oven to 350◦
- Sift flour, salt & 3/4 cup of the sugar
- Beat the egg whites on high speed until soft peaks form.
- Reduce the mixer speed,and add the remaining sugar, in small increments.
- Add the water, lemon juice, cream of tartar and vanilla.
- Slowly fold in the flour mixture in small amounts
- Pour into a greased 10-inch pan.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes.
Calories per serving: 166 (Serves 12)
* To give the cake a marbleized look, Combine 1/4 cup of cocoa to 1 cup of batter. Set aside.
Pour the remaining batter into the pan. (Step 7)
Place the chocolate batter on top of the regular batter, using a butter knife, swirl the batter.
Continue on to Step 8.
