Angel Food Cake

  • 1 cup Cake flour
  • 1-1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 12 Egg whites
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Cooking Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350◦
  2. Sift flour, salt & 3/4 cup of the sugar
  3. Beat the egg whites on high speed until soft peaks form.
  4. Reduce the mixer speed,and add the remaining sugar, in small increments.
  5. Add the water, lemon juice, cream of tartar and vanilla.
  6. Slowly fold in the flour mixture in small amounts
  7. Pour into a greased 10-inch pan.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
Calories per serving: 166 (Serves 12)

* To give the cake a marbleized look, Combine 1/4 cup of cocoa to 1 cup of batter. Set aside.
Pour the remaining batter into the pan. (Step 7)
Place the chocolate batter on top of the regular batter, using a butter knife, swirl the batter.
Continue on to Step 8.
