Almond Pound Cake


1 cup butter
8 oz pkg cream cheese
6 eggs
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder'
1/4 teaspoons salt
2-1/4 cups sugar
1 teaspoon almond extract


1-1/2 cups xxx sugar
3 oz softened cream cheese
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1-2 tablespoon milk

  • Combine all of the above ingredients. You made need to add more milk to get the desired glaze consistency.
  1. Grease and flour a bundt pan
  2. Allow the butter, cream cheese & eggs to stand at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 325◦
  4. In a mixing bowl beat together the butter and cream cheese.
  5. Gradually add the sugar, 2 tablespoons at a time. Beat until very light & fluffy.
  6. Add almond extract.
  7. Add eggs, 1 at a time and mix well after each one.
  8. Gradually add the flour.
  9. Bake for about 75 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Remove from pan and cool on wire rack.
  11. Wait at least 2 hours to top the cake with the glaze.
