Chicken Cordon Bleu

4 boneless, skinless chicken breast
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
4 slices of turkey ham
4 slices or 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese divided in four portions.
1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
1/2 teaspoon paprika
/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/3 cup milk

  • Preheat oven to 350°    
  • Place each piece of  chicken between 2 sheets of wax paper of plastic wrap.
  • Flatten to 1/4" thickness with a meat mallet or rolling pin.
  • Sprinkle with pepper.
  • Top each chicken breast with a piece of turkey ham a 1 slice of cheese. Roll up jelly-roll fashion and tuck in sides; secure each roll with wooden toothpicks.
  • Combine the breadcrumbs, paprika, and garlic powder in a shallow dish. Set aside.
  • Place milk in another shallow dish.
  • Dip chicken roll first in the milk and then dredge in the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Place in a greased baking dish.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes or until done.
  • Discard the toothpicks before serving.

* Really nice presentation when sliced on dinner plates before serving.
