Prepare Pie Crust
- Preheat oven to 350°
- 6-8 stayman or winesap apples (my favorite, you can use whatever type you prefer) peel, core, and slice these. Put these in the uncooked pie crust.
4 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
- Sprinkle the above mixture over the apples.
- Put a few slabs of cold butter over top of this. (I use 1-2 tablespoons)
- Put on the top pie crust.
- Cover the edges of pie crust with alum. foil to prevent burning.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil
- Bake another 20-25 minutes.
