Lemon Drop Cookies

1/2 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 cups flour
1/8 cup of butter
1/8 cup vegetable shortening
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
2 teaspoons lemon extract

  • Preheat oven to 375°
  • Combines above ingredients.
  • Chill dough for 15-20 minutes
  • pinch off a bit of dough and roll into 1-inch balls. Place on a cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly brown.
  • Cool completely and frost.

2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/8 cup of milk
1 teaspoon lemon extract.

* If frosting is to runny add a bit more powdered sugar. It too stiff add a bit of milk.
