How to Make Homemade Fluffy Biscuits

2 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 tbs sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
2/3 cup milk

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Mix well.
  3. Cut in shortening and work until the dough resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Add to the dry flour mixture and stir until moistened.
  5. On  a floured surface, knead the dough about 10 times.
  6. Roll to 3/4" thickness and using a floured 2-3 inch cutter cut out your biscuits.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes. Makes 9-12 biscuits.
