Turtle Cookies

4 tbs butter
12 oz pkg semisweet chocolate chips
14 oz can sweetened consensed milk
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1-1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1-1/4 cut caramel bits

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 tsp shortening
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Microwave butter until melted
  3. Add chocolate chips and milk. Melt & stir in 30 second intervals.
  4. Stir in vanilla
  5. Add flour, mix well. Stir in nuts and caramel bits.
  6. Drop dough by tablespoons 2 inches apart onto parchment paper-lined baking sheedts.
  7. Bake for 7-9 minutes.
  8. For icing. Melt the chocolate chips and shortening in the mircrowave in 30 second increments, stirring at each interval.
  9. Dip the top of each cookie into the melted chocolate.
