Creative Uses For Pine Needles

They Make Great Fire Starters

Because these burn quickly you will want to pair them up withother flamable kindling materials such as little sticks or newspapers.

Use Them As Mulch

The needle tend to interlock, therefore they will be less likely to blow away making it a great ground cover.

Make A Disinfectant

The recipe is easy:
Fill a quart size jar with pine branches
Fill the jar with white vinegar
Allow to steep for 4 weeks.
Remove the pine from the jar and use the solution for countertops and any other surface that needs to be cleaned.
You now have a homemade version of Pine Sol!

Flavored Vinegar

Follow the above recipe except use Apple Cider vinegar rather than the white vinegar. You now have an infusion to use as a herbal base for salad dressing, sauces and marinades.

Make A Refreshing Foot Soak

Add a cup of needles to a gallon of boiling water. Steep for 20 minutes. Remove the needles. When cooled down, Pour into a basin and soak your aching feet!
