6-8 Stayman or Winesap apples
4 tbs cornstarch
1 cup flour
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbs cold butter, cut into small cubes.

- Preheat oven to 350◦
- Peel, core and slice the apples. Put in the piecrust.
- Combine the cornstarch, cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle this over the apples.
- Evenly place the cubes of butter over the apples.
- Put on the top pie crust.
- Cover the edges of pie crust with alum foil to prevent the edges from burning.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove foil.
- Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes.
