Apple Pie | Mrs. Schildtknecht





6-8 Stayman or Winesap apples
4 tbs cornstarch
1 cup flour
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbs cold butter, cut into small cubes.
Mrs. Schildtknect's pie crust

  1. Preheat oven to 350◦
  2. Peel, core and slice the apples. Put in the piecrust.
  3. Combine the cornstarch, cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle this over the apples.
  4. Evenly place the cubes of butter over the apples.
  5. Put on the top pie crust.
  6. Cover the edges of pie crust with alum foil to prevent the edges from burning.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove foil.
  9. Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes.
