How To Get Rid of Ants

How To Get Rid Of Ants:

Ant colonies hit their peak during these warm summer months.

Ants are a lot like people. They have their personal taste preferences for food.
Some have a sweet tooth, some like grease and others are health-food junkies because they prefer pasta and grains.

If you have ants in your house, start by wiping down your shelves with some white vinegar. This will wipe away the scent that they are leaving behind for their buddies.

If you are looking for how to get rid of ants naturally, take some cotton balls and dab them in peppermint or spearmint essential oil. If I was an ant, that would make me want to hang around because it smells so good.

Commercial ant baits use a combination of boric acid and sugar in their baits. It is easy to make your own by mixing 1/4 cup of granulated sugar with 1 tbs of boric acid. Boric powder is toxic so keep it out of reach of children & pets.  You can put some in a jar with a screw on lid and punch holes big enough for the ants to get in & out of. The ants will feast on this taking some back to the nest. Hopefully the queen will eat it and knock out the colony, and this is how to get rid of ants!
