Chocolate Maple Nut Bars

1-1/2 cups flour
⅔ cup sugar
½ teaspoon salt
¾ cup cold butter
2 eggs
14-oz can sweetened condensed milk
1-1/2 teaspoon maple extract
2 cups nuts, chopped
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt.
  3. Using a pastry blender, cut in the butter.
  4. Stir in one egg and beat well.
  5. Press into a 9x 13 pan.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes.
  7. While this is baking combine the condensed milk, egg and extract.
  8. Stir in nuts.
  9. When the bars come out of the oven, sprinkle with the chocolate chips.
  10. Pour the prepared batter over the melted chips.
  11. Bake for an additional 25 minutes.
