Home-Made Strawberry Ice Cream

Have a hankering for some good ole home-made ice cream, that doesn't require having to use an ice cream maker, give this recipe a try.
  • 16 oz strawberries that have been hulled and sliced in half
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1-1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1-1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 pint heavy whipping cream
  1. Mash the strawberries with the corn syrup.
  2. Add the buttermilk and sugar.
  3. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  4. Beat the heavy whipping creamin a separate bowl until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold in the strawberry mixture
  6. Pour into a metal bowl bowl or pan.
  7. Cover and freeze for at least 4 hours.Stir once every hour.
  8. Stir into an air-tight container.
  9. Use up within 1 week.
