Have a hankering for some good ole home-made ice cream, that doesn't require having to use an ice cream maker, give this recipe a try.
Ingredients
- 16 oz strawberries that have been hulled and sliced in half
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1-1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 1 pint heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Mash the strawberries with the corn syrup.
- Add the buttermilk and sugar.
- Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Beat the heavy whipping creamin a separate bowl until stiff peaks form.
- Fold in the strawberry mixture
- Pour into a metal bowl bowl or pan.
- Cover and freeze for at least 4 hours.Stir once every hour.
- Stir into an air-tight container.
- Use up within 1 week.
