Congo Bars



2-1/4 cup flour
2-1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
8 tablespoons softened butter
1-1/2 cup dark brown sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
12 oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 350◦
  2. Grease & flour a 9 x 13 pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl combine the butter & brown sugar. Beat until creamy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beat well.
  5. Add baking powder & salt. Mix well.
  6. Stir in flour.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips and pecans.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes
