- 2 Pounds of beef round
1 lb sliced fresh mushrooms
1 medium onion, Chopped
4 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup flour
1 bottle of burgundy cooking wine
3 beef boullion cubes
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1-1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup of water
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 teaspoon marjoram, dried
- Brown meat with onions with butter.
- Mix flour, pepper, & salt. Add to onions and butter and stir well to make a thickening paste.
- Add burgundy, water, & seasonings. Stir.
- Add mushrooms.
- Simmer on low 1-1/2 to two hours. At this point you may transfer to a crock pot.
My husband likes to have this served over chow mein noodles. I prefer to put it over egg noodles or rice. Nutritional info does not include noodles or chow mein noodles
