Pie Crust - makes 2
1-1/4 cup of flour
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of Crisco shortening
6 tablespoons of cold water
- Combine flour & salt; cut the shortening into the flour using a pastry blender.
- Add water, and stir with a fork, adding more water if needed. Roll out and put the bottom crust into the pie pan. Poke holes in it.
- Preheat oven to 400 ◦
- Combine and mix well: 3/4 cup sugar, 1/4 teaspoon each of cinnamon, nutmeg & salt.
- Stir into apples
- Pour into pie pan.
- Top with 1 tablespoon of butter, cut into pieces.
- Roll out the top of the pie and place over the top of the apples. Poke holes in it.
- Prepare the topping by combining all of the ingredients. Use a fork do do this.
- Brush the top of the pie crust with the mik, and then sprinkle the topping over the pie crust.
- Bake for 10 minutes at 400, then at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

- 3/4 cup of sugar (more may be needed if apples are tart)
- 1/4 teaspoon each of cinnamon, salt, & nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- 1 tablespoon of cold butter
- Topping
- 3 tablespoons of flour
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1/8 cup of milk (only for brushing top, will not use all of it)
