1/2 cup caramel topping + additional for serving
1/2 ground cinnamon
6 cups apples, peeled and cut into bite-size piece or slices
2/3 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup cold butter, cut into small piece
2/3 cup quick-cooking oats
Whipped cream (for garnish)
- Preheat oven to 375◦
- In a large bowl, combine the apples and cinnamon., stir well.
- Add apples and toss until even coated Set aside.
- Place in an ungreased 8" glass baking dish.
- In a small bowl combine the flour and brown sugar.
- Using a pastry blender, cut in butter. The mixture will resemble coarse crumbs.
- Fold in oats. Mix well.
- Sprinkle the mixture over the apples
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until apples are tender and toping is a pretty golden brown.
- Serve with a bit of caramel topping and whipped cream.
