Grandma's Green Bean Casserole




2 slices of turkey bacon cooked and crumbled
1-1/2 lbs green beans, trimmed
2 T. butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 t salt
1/2 t. black pepper
1/2 C. milk
1 C. sour cream
1/2 cup cheddar cheese

  • Preheat oven to 350◦  
  • In a skillet, add 1 t. of butter and green beans. Cook for 10-15 minutes. Set aside
  • Add onion and the remaining butter to a separate skillet and saute for about 10 minutes. Add to this the flour, salt, pepper and milk. cook for about 5 minutes until lightly thickened.
  • Add the sour cream and cheese. Stir well.
  • Add grean bean and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Pour into a greased 2 qt casserole dish
  • Top with bacon.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes     
*Serves 6   276 calories, 8g protein, 14 carbs, 4 fiber
