Fried Mozzerella Sticks




2 eggs
12 sticks of string cheese or a block of mozzarella cheese cut into 4 x 1/2 " pieces
1 tablespoon of water
3 tablespoons of flour
1 cup dry bed crumbs
1 tablespoon melted butter
2-1/2 teaspoons Italian seasoning 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1 cup of marinara sauce for dipping
  1. In a small bowl beat the eggs and add water.
  2. In a plastic bag, combine: Breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder & pepper.
  3. Coat cheese sticks in flour, then dip in egg mixture, then bread crumbs.
  4. Cover and chill overnight (or at least 4 hours if needed sooner)
  5. Place on an ungreased baking sheet; drizzle with melted butter.
  6. Bake uncovered, at  400° for 6-8 minutes.
  7. Allow to stand for 3-5 minutes before serving.
  8. Dip into warmed marinara sauce.
