Cheese-Stuffed Italian Meatball Sliders



1-1/2 pounds Italian sausage
1 lb of mozzarella cheese, cut into 16 equal cubes
1-24 oz jar spaghetti sauce
1-8 oz jar prepared pesto
8 dinner rolls, split & toasted
  • Preheat oven to 350 °
  • Divide sausage into 8 equal portions.
  • Make a meatball with each portion, placing a cube of cheese in the middle of each.
  • Place on a greased rack in a shallow baking pan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until meat is no longer pink inside.
  • Drain meatballs on a paper towel when done.
  • In a saucepan; combine spaghetti sauce and pesto and bring to a boil.
  • Add meatballs and cook until heated through. (5-10 minutes)
  • Toasted the dinner rolls, and serve sauce and meatballs over the rolls.
