Beef Barbecue Sandwiches

5 lb chuck roast
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon celery seed
1 cup ketchup
1 thinly sliced onion
1 thinly sliced lemon
8 oz can tomato sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
‘1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup Worcester sauce
2 cups water
  • Place the roast in the crock-pot
  • Combine Worcestershire sauce,  seasonings, sugar, vinegar, ketchup, tomato sauce and water. Mix well. Pour over the roast.
  • Top this with the sliced lemon and onion slices.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
  • Shred the meat. Discard the lemon, any bones or fat.
  • Serve on buns.
