Homemade Dog Biscuits


Cheesy Doggie Treats  (I made these & my dogs loved them)

1 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup of butter
1 cup of boiling water
3/4 cup cornmeal
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons chicken or beef stock
1/2 cup milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 egg
2-3 cups whole wheat flour.

  • Preheat oven to 325°
  • Combine above ingredients.
  • Roll out dough to a 1/2 inch thickness.
  • Cut with a bone shaped cookie cutter.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes.
  • Store in refrigerator or freezer.   

 



Chicken Liver Treats

1 lb of chicken livers
2 eggs
2 tablespoons molasses
1-1/2 cup corn meal
1/4 cup milk

  • Preheat oven to 400°
  • Blend the above ingredients in a blender
  • Bake in a greased and floured 8x8 pan.
  • Bake until the knife comes out clean. (I haven't made this yet. I'd start out with 30 minutes and then check it every 5-10 minutes, thereafter.)
  • Cool & cut into pieces.
  • Store in refrigerator.

Beef Liver Treats

1 lb beef livers
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup corn meal
2-4 garlic cloves
2 eggs

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Puree liver and garlic in the blender.
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Pour onto a cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 20 minute. Flip to other side.
  • Bale an additional 10 minutes.
  • Cut into pieces.
  • Store in refrigerator.


Bacon Dog Biscuits

2-1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
5 tablespoon vegetable oil or bacon fat
1 pinch of garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup water.
8 pieces of bacon fried, and crumbled.

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Combine above ingredients.
  • Roll into 2" balls
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes.
  • Store in refrigerator
