Pie Crust Recipes




Blend together:

3 cups flour
1-1/2 cup shortening
1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Set aside the above mixture.
  • Grab yourself a 2/3 cup measuring cup.
  • Crack an egg in it. Beat well.
  • Add to that 1 teaspoon vinegar.
  • Fill the remainder of cup with cold water.
  • Pour this into the dry ingredients.
  • Work until easy to roll.
This makes a crust for 2 pies (top & bottom)

Recipe # 2

2-2/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup crisco
6 tablespoons cold water.

  • Combine flour and salt.
  • Cut the Crisco into the flour using a pastry blender.
  • Add water and stir with a fork. (add more water if needed.)
