Homemade Icecream (No icecream machine required)



Supplies
2 coffee cans with lids, one smaller than the other and able to fit inside the larger one.
duct tape
Ice
1 cup salt

Ingredients
2 cups half & half
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Mix all ingredients in the 1 lb coffee can.
  • Cover the lid with duct tape to ensure it is tightly sealed.
  • Place the smaller can inside the larger can and fill the space between the two with ice and salt.
  • Put the lid on the large coffee can, seal with duct tape.
  • Roll the can back & forth for 15 minutes….(get your kids or grandkids to do this!). To reduce the noise, place a towel on your working surface or do this on a rug.
  • Dump out the ice & water.
  • Stir the contents of the small can.
  • Store the ice cream in the freezer.
