Chocolate Revel Bars



3 cups quick-cooking oats
2-1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
4 teaspoons vanilla
1-14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1-1/2 cup chocolate chips
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1-1/2 teaspoons salt

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Combine flour, oatmeal, & 1 teaspoon salt. Set aside.
  • Add 1 cup butter and brown sugar. Beat until fluffy.
  • Add eggs and 2 teaspoons of vanilla. Beat well.
  • Stir in dry ingrediants.
  • In a saucepan heat sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons butter and 1/2 teaspoon salt over low heat. After mixture is smooth remove from heat.
  • Stir in walnuts and remaining 2 teaspoons vanilla.
  • Pat 2/3 of the oat mixture in the bottom of an ungreased 15x10x1 inch baking pan.
  • Spread chocolate mixture over dough.
  • dot with remaining oat mixture.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes.
  • Let cool completely before cutting.
