Berry Syrup

2 cups of berries
1/2 cup water
2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice

  1. Put berries and lemon juice in saucepan.
  2. Use a potato masher and mash.
  3. Add water and sugar. Mix well.
  4. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Strain into a warmed bottle or jar.
  7. Will thicken as it cools.
* Makes 3 cups.

This is good on ice cream, pancakes, waffles, in tea or even in milk.
